Grounded in Tradition. Built for Performance.
Pilates has become a lost art—stripped down, sped up, and stripped of its essence. In a fast-moving world obsessed with shortcuts, we believe it deserves better. Pilates is about precision, intention, and comprehensive transformation. It's the difference between inventing something and actually teaching it.
Joseph Pilates was a brilliant inventor. But it was Clara—his partner—who became the true teacher, developing the comprehensive instruction method alongside him. While his nature was harsh and exacting, hers was kind and expansive. Together, they created something complete. She ran the studio, she taught the students, she refined the practice. We named Clara Pilates in her honor, because her philosophy and approach matter now more than ever.
We've invested deeply in our training—700+ hours of classical Pilates instruction, along with advanced certifications in corrective exercise, personal training, yoga, and dance education. This level of commitment is rare; most instructors stop at the minimum. We don't. Like Clara, we believe in teaching comprehensively, honoring the full depth of what Pilates can do.
Our studio at XS Tennis Club reflects that commitment. Beyond reformers, we teach on Cadillacs, Wunda Chairs, Towers, and more—all built by Gratz (the manufacturer Joseph Pilates trusted) and Contrology by BB. The equipment matters because classical Pilates was designed around it. You can't teach the method fully without it.
We work with people of all ages and backgrounds—from tennis players building injury-free games and peak athletic performance, to professionals, parents, and anyone committed to moving with real integrity and intention. Our focus is teaching high-capacity individuals how to align their body and mind, transforming how they move both on the court and through life.
The goal is timeless: bodies that perform, endure, and thrive. Play longer. Move better. Live well. This is the Clara way.
